The Implementation of the Provisions of the Mines and Minerals Act

Please find herewith the observations made by the Director General (Acting) Geological Survey & Mines Bureau on the Implementation of the Mines and Minerals Act No. 33 of 1992 as amended by the Mines and Minerals (Amendment) Act No. 66 of 2009 and a report prepared by a geologist on the interpretation of the term “mineral”.

Copies  of the  Mines and Minerals Act No. 33 of 1992 and the Mines and Minerals (Amendment) Act No. 66 of 2009 together with the Government Gazette Extraordinary No. 794/23 dated 26.11.1993 and the Government Gazette Extraordinary No. 1954/35 dated 19.02.2016 are also attached herewith for your information.
